About us

Two people, making things.

Mimso is a small studio. We build software we'd want to use, charge fairly for the bits that cost money to run, and try not to pretend we're bigger than we are.

A bit of background.

Mimso started because we were tired of paying eleven different subscriptions for things that should have come together, and sceptical of the very enthusiastic claims being made about what chat assistants could and couldn't do.

So we built one we'd want to use. Then we built a music app because we missed when streaming was simple. Then we opened up the chat as an API for people who wanted to wire it into their own work.

The list of things we want to build is long. The list of things we actually ship is short. We think that's the right way round.

What we believe

A handful of opinions.

01

Boring software is often better

Most products would be improved by removing features, not adding them. We try to ship less and explain it more.

02

Be honest about what's hard

Language models get things wrong. Music licensing is a mess. We say so on the page instead of pretending otherwise.

03

Pricing is a feature

How a product is priced says as much as what it does. We try to make it the right amount for the work involved.

04

UK first

Built here, priced in pounds, support in the same time zone you're in.

05

Free plans count

If our free plan is useless then we've shipped something we wouldn't bother with ourselves. So we don't.

06

Email back

We answer our own email. If something's broken, you'll usually hear from one of us within a day.

Say hello.

Press, partnerships, bug reports, or just a chat. The same inbox, the same two people.
